Gunjani is Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of FL (License # MH14441) and now also practicing in the state of CA as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (License # 4683) who works with adults, children, couples, and families. Gunjani received her B.S in Nutrition Science from University of Cincinnati. She received her M.A in Counseling Psychology from the University of North Dakota. After receiving her Counseling degree she began her career path in Manhattan, New York and establishing her business in Tampa, FL, She recently relocated to San Diego, CA where she continues to work with adults, in her private practice. 


Throughout her 10+ years of clinical experience, Gunjani has worked with diverse clientèle in a variety of mental health settings. Gunjani received post-graduate training at The Village Family Service Center, a community mental health counseling center in Grand Forks, ND, where she worked with adults, couples, families, and children. Trained in both psychodynamic as well as family systems psychotherapy, she worked with families to identify overall family dynamics, including healthy and unhealthy patterns of interacting, roles, various communication styles, boundaries, and power structures. Gunjani was able to help couples and families by building on their existing strengths, raising awareness about their maladaptive patterns and teaching them new ways of communicating and interacting.


Gunjani also has expertise in working with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities through her work at YAI- National Institute of People with Disabilities, emphasizing on various behavioral modification treatment options, education and training to individuals and families involved.  She is also trained and Certified in ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) therapy, so the goal in treatment is often to help parents gain awareness and work with the interdisciplinary team to decrease the stress that comes with this diagnosis. This experience has helped develop her skills of building an alliance with children and adolescents to help them develop the confidence, awareness and skills needed to improve their relationships, sense of themselves and school performance.


Additionally, Gunjani spent several years working with women and children survivors of domestic and sexual abuse at a Community Violence Intervention center where she provided crisis counseling, suicide helpline and support for victims of rape, sexual abuse. Thus giving her exposure to a wide range of social, emotional and mental health issues from sexual abuse, and domestic abuse, to depression and anxiety disorders. 


Gunjani has also worked at a private psychiatric facility as a mental health technician and gained knowledge of working with children, adolescents and geriatric population, recovering from various acute and severe mental health conditions such as personality disorders, severe depression and anxiety, schizophrenia, OCD and PTSD.


She enjoys working with all sorts of people who want to do better and feel better and who, often, are afraid things cannot get better.  



Gunjani is trained in EMDR and specializes working with children and adults with PTSD, Acute Stress Disorder,  Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning disability, ADHD, trauma and crisis intervention, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, sexual abuse, life transitions (entering or leaving college, marriage, entering/leaving relationship, pregnancy, having a baby, moving, divorce), aging issues, grief and bereavement counseling.


She also speaks Gujarati and Hindi.
